Tuesday, January 27, 2026, Crossroads Restaurant
Meeting Called to Order by Andi at 6:16 p.m.
Attendance: 14 people were in attendance.
Treasurer’s Report: Lisa distributed a Profit & Loss Report of MCHC for 1/1/2025-1/27/2026. Checking/savings accounts current balance: $3856. The Club received $410 in 2025 dues and $905 from the tack sale. Expenses included the sleigh ride ($455), tack sale expenses ($277), donations ($1051), insurance ($450) and website fees ($144). Motion to accept the treasurer’s report made by Cathy, seconded by Tess. Motion carried.
Other Correspondence? We received thank-you notes from Great Lakes Rodeo and UPHA.
Old Business:
Winter Gathering/Sleigh Ride Update: January 31 Meet @ 11:30 AM, Sleigh ride @ NOON at Up North Lodge Update. Current list of sleighride attendees: 1) Cathy, 2) Steve, 3) Lisa, 4) Janece, 5) Cindy, 6) Norm, 7) Bobbi, 8) Cynthia, 10) Jane, 11) Ashlyn, 12) Lauri, 13) Stephanie, 14) Dale, 15) Jackie—maybe 16) Kathy S with a friend (Emma & Tess coming for appetizers).
Tack Sale: (Negaunee Township Hall—March 28): Tess will get the key from the office.
2026 MCHC Sponsorships & Donations: Tess made a motion for the club to donate a total of $270 in 2026 to: Great Lakes Rodeo—$100, UP State Fair—$50, UPHA Members Show—$40, Silver Spurs—$40 and Northern MI Equine Association—$40. Cindy seconded; motion carried.
Process for ending MCHC by the end of 2026:
No March Meeting or June Work bee. We will meet in the fall at the Fairgrounds to finalize the club’s end and disbursement of remaining funds.
Motion to adjourn made by Norm, seconded by Maddi. Motion carried.

- Schedule: Hours—Club Set-up @ 4PM Friday. Saturday-8:30AM, Vendor Set-up
9-10:3AM, Open to public 11 AM-1PM - Entry Fee collection at front door— TBA
- Table Rentals @ $15. Need to preregister by 3/20/26. There are 10 preregistered tables so far. We can fit 21 people in the Gym— the rest can go elsewhere.
- MCHC Concession Stand. Minimal selection this year of hot dogs, chips and drinks.
- Bake Sale: Karen Hendrickson and Tovah Rolling will be having a bake sale again.
- Raffle & Muck Buckets: 1 adult bucket and 1 kid bucket this year. Kathy has a quilt for us to raffle off too.

Process for ending MCHC by the end of 2026:
- There will be no membership dues collected in 2026.
- At the end of 2026—our MCHC website and Facebook page accounts will be closed.
- MCHC will not be holding a tack sale nor co-hosting Sally’s Ride in 2027.
- We will notify all interested parties of the Club’s end so they can plan accordingly.
- All remaining funds will be donated to charities approved by the board.
- MCHC checking and savings accounts will be closed.
