Marquette County Horse Club

1. The name of this organization shall be "The Marquette County Horse Club".
2. The purpose of the Marquette County Horse Club is to provide horse people with Horse related activities and to support the Marquette County Fair. In addition to supporting the Marquette County Fair, it is the responsibility of the Horse Club to maintain the "Marquette County Horse Club Mini Park" located on the North end of the horse barn number 1.
3. All members are encouraged to suggest and initiate any club activity (trail ride, horse show, Clinic, etc.) and be willing to chair that event.
4. Membership shall consist of members who pay dues and conform to the rules as may be passed as necessary. Membership will be unlimited. Membership runs from January first (1st) to December thirty first (31st) of that calendar year. It is the responsibility of the Membership Enrollment Officer or the Vice President to keep track and inform when a membership ends. You must be a paid member to vote at meetings.
Adult membership 18 & Over - $20 per year
Junior membership 17 & Under - $5 per year and cannot vote or hold office.
Family membership- Not to exceed $50
5. Officers shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer and shall be elected to serve a term of one year. Nominations for officers will be held at our September meeting with voting at the November meeting. Nominees must be a paid member and have portrayed an active interest in the club.
6. Meetings will be held the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. during the months of January, March, May, July, September (nominations) and November (voting). A special meeting can be called at any time by an officer if deemed necessary.

1. Members present will constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. Members who attend meetings should transact club business without regard to the number of voting members present. However, the Officers would have no veto power. If they felt a motion was not in the club's best interest or was detrimental to an absent member's interest, an officer could postpone a vote on a motion until a meeting can be attended by 51% of the voting membership.
2. All expenditures over $100.00 must be voted on by voting members at a meeting.
3. Abuse or misuse of animals will not be tolerated and is cause for loss of membership.
4. Any Junior Member participating in club activities must be accompanied by a responsible adult who has a signed medical emergency waiver form.
5. There shall be two (2) signatures on the signature card for the checking account.
6. All expenses must have a receipt and be given to the Treasurer.
7. Any motions concerning donations will be secret ballot, to avoid hard feelings.
8. Sponsors will be paid prior to horse show.
9. An agenda will be sent to each officer prior to the meeting.
10. Annual Financial Report will be provided by the Treasurer at the November meeting.
11. Proper meeting etiquette is expected once the meeting has been called to order.
