at the Marquette County Fairgrounds

  • 10 a.m. Gates Open.
  • Noon-5 PM Tickets sold on-site only! Purchase tickets and view bucket raffle items. Located in the Main Barn. 
  • 1-6 PM Brisket Barn Food Truck will be on-site to purchase food.
  • Sally's Trail Ride. 1-4 p.m. Cost is $25. Come ride at your leisure between 1 to 4PM. There will be a 5-mile and a 10-mile trail marked riding to Shiloh's Stable.

  • Bucket Raffle & Silent Auction Winners Announced. 5 PM​
  • 6-7 PM Paavo from "Neo lives" will be singing for us around the campfire 
  • After Dusk-A "s'mores bar" at the bon fire and of course just good ole hanging out and enjoying the beautiful fairgrounds for a great cause!!! 
Silent Auction- ONLINE ONLY- bidding opens 9/14 at 5pm and closes 9/20 at 9pm. Winners will pick up items day of ride.

Camping & Stalls Info
Camping: $25 for one night or $40 for 2 nights.
​(Camping gate open 9/20 at 5 PM. Electric only, no water hook-up.) NO HORSES ALLOWED IN CAMPING AREA. 

Stalls: $10 for the weekend
FREE but Limited Bedding Available!  Stalls must be cleaned before you leave. Contact Cindy Johnson, 906-250-5153, to reserve your stall.

All Sally's Ride Traffic will be directed to the back gate. 

For the love of the horses that will be rescued by Sally's Fund come on out and support this great cause! Please come with or without a horse!

​Sally's Ride is done in honor of Sally Paajanen, a corrections officer at Alger Maximum Correctional Facility who lost her life on February 15, 2003 in a tragic event. Friends and family initiated Sally's Fund in Paajanen's memory to foster equine protection and offer educational opportunities aimed at preventing equine neglect.

​Paajanen was an avid horsewoman dedicated to her own horses as well as to the care and living conditions of other horses. Proceeds from the ride go to the Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter (UPAWS) to promote protection and education solely for horses.  Donations can be sent anytime to the UPAWS, C/O Sally’s Fund, PO Box 968, Marquette MI 49855.
